The new generation of intelligent light: The world’s first dynamic all-LED headlamp with
adaptive light function goes into series production in 2010.

It was back in 2008 that Automotive Lighting (AL) unveiled the very first series-stage all-LED headlamp. This year, this
success story is set to continue with the launch of the world’s first dynamic all-LED headlamp. This groundbreaking new
development sets another milestone in the field of vehicle lighting. Features which cannot fail to impress include its
performance, design, energy efficiency, the durability of the LEDs and the bright light colour similar to daylight with a colour
temperature of around 6000 Kelvin.

The new all-LED headlamp generation is the first to be equipped with all the adaptive lighting functions of current Xenon
systems, i.e. the low and high beam is fully automatically adjusted to different traffic and weather situations based on
various driving-dynamics related and external parameters.

Static and dynamic curve light, adverse weather light and camera-controlled dynamic cut-off line for country road and
motorway lighting ensure that the driving lane and the course of the road are ideally illuminated.

Due to the complexity involved, the engineers at Automotive Lighting developed a sophisticated modular actuating concept
inclusive of a specific electronic control system for the headlamp. The production process is organized in such a way that
the modules with their complex light sources can be individually operated and separately tested.

The elegant low-profile low beam module is centrally located in the headlamp and comprises the inner and outer basic
light, each of which has a complex light source and an additional spot to accommodate two additional arrays for dynamic
curve light.
